Rotary Ride the Range
Event Brief
More than 500 lycra clad cyclists set out each year on the Ride the Range Challenge. Now in it’s eigth year, Ride the Range has grown from strength to strength since it first year with just over 100 cyclists taking part.
In 2016 the introduction of the ‘longest route’, the 100 mile Challenge (164km) was introduced. There is a distance for all levels of cyclists on offer, but for those that welcome the extra challenge then the 100 mile Challenge is the way to go which will started and finished at Picnic Point.”
With more than 100 volunteers helping out during the weekend this event could not be the success is it without their support. “The men and women that give up their weekend to help run this event is incredible, in particular the Rotary Club of Toowoomba and the students from Glennie and Fairholme Schools.
It is a fun-filled day, although challenging to the cyclists. It brings so many people from all over South East and South West Queensland together, with people participating from across the Darling Downs as well as from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
